Amazon has crossed a significant threshold in automation, deploying over 1 million robots across its global warehouse network. The milestone was marked by the arrival of the one-millionth unit at a fulfillment center in Japan. Robotics now play a role in 75% of Amazon's deliveries, underscoring the company's strategic reliance on automation.

The push toward automation traces back to Amazon's $775 million acquisition of Kiva Systems in 2012. Since then, the company has developed specialized robots for tasks ranging from parcel sorting to heavy lifting. Despite the scale of automation, Amazon emphasizes a collaborative model where robots work alongside human employees rather than replacing them.

Further advancing its robotics capabilities, Amazon has introduced DeepFleet, a new AI model designed to enhance the efficiency of its robot fleet by 10%. The integration of such technologies highlights Amazon's commitment to maintaining its edge in logistics and fulfillment.
